The idea of online business is one that is sticking with most people. In fact, online businesses have grown exponentially in the past few years as more and more people look at this as their business method, rather than starting a brick and mortar store. There are several reasons for this turn to e-commerce.

In China, the cost of having a store, the labor of running this store and the like is one of the largest reasons for why so many people are turning to online businesses. In addition, ecommerce is continuously growing and becoming larger in China, making it a dominant force in the consumer market. And perhaps one of the biggest reasons why there is such a shift to ecommerce has to do with mobile internet.

The Mobile Internet and Online Businesses

With the introduction of the mobile internet years ago, it was suddenly seen that things could be done differently. If a consumer wanted to order that piece of clothing that he or she had been eyeing, they could do while standing in line waiting for the bus. If a person needed to read reviews on a particular company before choosing to go with them, they could do this while having a break from work. The mobile Internet has made all the difference, and has opened up a new avenue of choices.

With the advent of the mobile internet, China now has around 668 million people who are accessing the internet, and this number increases yearly. In addition, there are 675 million social media user, while mobile subscriptions is at 1.3 billion. This is a huge market, and one that is going to continue to grow.

Why Business are Shifting to Online

As stated beforehand, the cost of having a brick and mortar business is high, and this is one reason why so many people are going to an online approach. However, also consider that through changing a business to an online business, the person is reaching a larger audience. Business is all about succeeding in the market that you have chosen to enter. It just makes sense for businesses to start addressing their online image. Otherwise, they will find that they cannot succeed in the market.

Making the shift to ecommerce can be hard. However, more and more traditional business are shifting their attention, combining with existing online business and the like in order to ensure that they are going to be able to stick around the Chinese market for the upcoming future.
